A new season always brings abundant excitement.
Two weeks ago, the Kingsmen Baseball Academy opened its arms wide and welcomed 39 top-level players for the Academy’s second season. As we enter the month of September, the coaching staff is loving the momentum that has been established with this roster.
“I’ve really enjoyed the first couple of weeks back with the team,” Assistant Coach Preston Hudak said. “We’ve got great energy and momentum right now. Guys are working hard in the weight room, in the kitchen and on the field. Results are already showing. Our guys want it.”
The Kingsmen are thrilled to have welcomed back seventeen players from last year’s roster, including third baseman Israel Clase, who is stoked to be back with the chance to be a leader of this team.
“Coming back to Kingsmen is the best decision I could’ve ever made,” Clase stated. “Welcoming the new guys and teaching them how to be a Kingsmen is a great feeling. I’m super excited to get the season started to create new memories and open new doors as a player and for the future of the Kingsmen Baseball Academy.”
The first few weeks have allowed for new players to get in touch with the Kingsmen system, and over the next few weeks those same players will get a chance to shine. This week will provide the fall’s first head-to-head competition, when KBA pitchers will throw live to Kingsmen hitters. Coach Nick Osborne looks forward to the players’ chances to showcase their abilities.
“It’s always very exciting for me to see the first time our hitters and pitchers face off against each other, especially with how talented our team is this year,” Oz noted.
Coach Preston likes what he has seen so far too.
“The talent is there and I’m excited to see how it translates in game situations.”
The fall is just ramping up, and the team is ready to roll.
