The KBA hits the road this week. Tuesday kicks off a northern road trip filled to the brim with action, before the varsity team wraps up the week at home. Let’s take a look at The Week Ahead:
Tuesday, March 17th:
Varsity: @ Eastern Carolina Academy (2:00pm)
📍: Goldsboro, NC
A detour on the road brings the team to Goldsboro, where the varsity team will battle the Bobcats of ECA. The Kingsmen will be hungry for revenge after dropping a close one in East Cobb.
About Eastern Carolina Academy: ECA is based in Goldsboro, North Carolina, over 3 hours from the Kingsmen’s home in Gastonia. Eastern Carolina Academy’s coaching staff includes two former minor leaguers. Additionally, ECA coach Adam Pate is a former teammate of Kingsmen Associate Head Coach Preston Hudak, the two playing together for a year at the University of North Carolina. This is game two of five in the season series between the Bobcats and the Kingsmen, with ECA holding the current lead, 1-0.

Wednesday, March 18th:
Prospect (8-0 in ABA): @ Dominion Sports Collective (2:00pm)
📍: Richmond, VA
The longest conference roadtrip in the 2026 season brings the Kingsmen to the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The three-game series will be pivotal as we reach the halfway point of the conference schedule.
About DSC: Dominion Sports Collective is based in the heart of Virginia. Similarly to the Kingsmen, DSC is a new academy operating for its first season. DSC’s president, Matt Laney, is a former pitcher at Coastal Carolina, while their head coach, Charlie Dragum, played at VCU before beginning a high school coaching career that saw him take home three state championships. The Kingsmen and the Wolves of Dominion Sports Collegiate will battle it out six times in total this season. In two weeks, the Wolves will come into town for another massive battle at Gardner-Webb.

Thursday, March 19th:

📍: Richmond, VA
A doubleheader wraps up the roadtrip as the Wolves host the Kingsmen again for two games. The Kingsmen will look to win their fourth series in a row to start off ABA play.

Friday, March 20th:
Varsity: 🆚 P27 Academy (3:00pm)
📍: Gardner-Webb University (Boiling Springs, NC)
Safely back home, the Kingsmen varsity group will hit the field for its second game of the week, a rematch with P27. After beating the Blacksmiths in two games last week on the road, the Kingsmen will look for their third in a row against their cross-Carolinas rival.
About P27: P27 Baseball Academy is based in Lexington, South Carolina, near Columbia. Founded in 2018, the Blacksmiths boast four MLB draft picks and numerous division one commits from their collection of alumni. The KBA varsity team is 2-1 against P27’s varsity, with seven total regular season matchups in store against their Carolina rivals.
