I’m not going to lie, I was nervous to come down to the Dominican Republic. I’ve only been to 2 different countries and those are the United States and Canada, so this would be a very new experience for me. After this trip though I can confidently say this is the best trip of my life. My favorite part of the trip was going to Los Montones and passing out food to the families there and praying for them afterwards. I’ve never been on a missions trip before so I had no clue what to expect but going to the girls orphanage, passing out food, going to the school, and telling the opposing players we face about Jesus was so much better than anything I could’ve imagined. This trip taught me to be grateful for the little things in life no matter what. We take so much for granted in America, while just having food is worth so much to the people here. It just shows me that no matter what you have in life all that matters is Jesus. Whether you have a mansion, unlimited food, a nice car, or you have a shack to live in, and barely enough food to live. When all that is gone it doesn’t matter anymore. All that matters is that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he died for us.
