This week, the Kingsmen really get things going on the field, with East Cobb and the ABA Kickoff just a week away. Here’s a look at The Week Ahead.
Monday, February 16th:
🆚 Belmont Abbey JV
📍CaroMont Health Park (Gastonia, North Carolina)
With the sun coming back out on Monday, the Kingsmen will play host to the JV baseball team of Belmont Abbey College. This will be a great test for the Kingsmen against collegiate competition. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm in Gastonia.
About Belmont Abbey: Founded in 1876, Belmont Abbey College is a private, Catholic college located in Belmont, North Carolina, about 15 minutes from Gastonia. The Crusaders have historically fielded a good baseball team, winning Conference Carolinas in 2025. They also made the 2009 Division II College World Series, placing third. Belmont Abbey is the only college in North Carolina that is affiliated with the Catholic Church.

Tuesday, February 17th:
🆚 P27 Baseball Academy (Premier)
📍Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC)
The Kingsmen head to Coach Joe Hudak’s old stomping ground for the first of two battles with one of the ABA’s best. They take on P27’s premier team at the neutral site of Winthrop Ballpark. The game begins at 5:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday.
EDIT: The original team of the game was 11am, the post has been updated to reflect the new start time.
About P27: P27 Baseball Academy is based in Lexington, South Carolina, near Columbia. Founded in 2018, the Blacksmiths boast four MLB draft picks and numerous division one commits from their collection of alumni. They are a member of the ABA, and will quickly become a familiar face for the Kingsmen.

Thursday, February 19th:
@ Combine Academy (Continuation of Friday game + 1 full game)
📍Lincolnton, NC
After Friday’s battle, there’s more work to do against the Goats of Combine Academy. The day ended with the Kingsmen leading nine to zero in the fourth inning. The day’s action will see that game completed before a final game is played at GeoSurfaces Field.
About Combine: Combine Academy, established in 2012, features baseball, basketball, soccer, and golf academies preparing students for the collegiate level. The academy founder, Jonah Baize, is a former basketball player at Clemson University. The Kingsmen are 1-0 against Combine this spring.

Friday, February 20th:
🆚 P27 Baseball Academy (Premier)
📍CaroMont Health Park
The Kingsmen return home on Friday after a couple of short trips away from Gastonia. P27 awaits once more in the Kingsmen’s final game before the ABA season begins. The actions begins at 2:30 PM at the home of the Ghost Peppers.
