May 11, 2026

EMERSON, Ga. — Before a pitch was thrown at the 2026 ABA Championships at LakePoint, the Kingsmen registered their first win on Monday night.

During the pre-tournament awards ceremony celebrating the top talent during the ABA regular season, Owen Beatrice took home the award for the best hitter in the Prospect Conference.

The St. John’s commit finished the 2026 regular season with a .396 batting average, boasting an impressive 1.179 OPS. Beatrice led the team in hits, doubles, and runs batted in, and was tied for the home-run lead on the prospect team.

Monday was a fun night for the Kingsmen, supporting their teammates as Christian Burney and Israel Clase took on the home run derby, slashing four home runs over the course of their run.

The KBA starts the tournament Tuesday with a game for both the varsity and prospect teams, as they look for more silverware.
