The Kingsmen Baseball Academy is excited to announce that two Academy players have signed their National Letter of Intent. Third baseman and pitcher Jack Curtis has signed with the University of Maine, while middle infielder Owen Beatrice has signed with St. John’s University.
Kingsmen Baseball Academy Founder and Head Coach Joe Hudak is excited for his players and for the academy. “We’re so very happy for both Jack and Owen,” Hudak stated. “It’s a testament to their hard work. Our Chaplain Lincoln Lawing likes to tell the guys that their natural ability is God’s gift to them, and what they do with it is their gift to God. Both of these young men have worked extremely hard.”
Curtis hails from Castle Creek, NY, and is the son of David and Corinne Curtis. Jack’s younger brother Deacon also attends the Kingsmen Baseball Academy.

Beatrice is from New Brighton, PA and is the son of Jeff and Tricia Boots Beatrice. Owen credits a lot of his success to his grandfather, John “Pappy” Boots.

Coach Hudak knows these two will be the first of many signings to come. “The goal of our Academy is to prepare our players for success on the baseball field in college,” Hudak explained. “We run our Academy the same way I ran our nationally ranked program for 19 years at Winthrop University. After spending this year with us, both Jack and Owen will be ready to succeed when they step on campus. We work just as hard to help prepare them to be successful in life by growing in their relationship with Christ.”
The Kingsmen open their spring season with an eight-day mission trip to the Dominican Republic running January 29th to February 5th. While on the island, the team will play games against local Dominican teams and do mission work. They will visit an orphanage, pass out food bags to local families in sugar cane villages, and assist with service projects.
