Today we visited a girls orphanage in the Dominican Republic, the girls orphanage made me realize how fortunate we are and how lucky we are to be blessed into such a great situation in the USA. I had lots of fun meeting new friends there and creating a bond with people who can’t speak the same language as me, but share the same love and joy for God and for friendship. This morning we went to JUMBO, its basically like Walmart but here in the Dominican Republic, It definitely shocked me how different everything operates here, especially when i couldn’t find what i wanted because i couldn’t read the aisle signs. The Dominican has been very eye opening for me in these first couple with how awesome this place is, I haven’t experienced anything like this place with the scenery, people, language, transportation, and much more. The Dominican Republic is a very beautiful place, I feel like the pictures do not do it justice at all, when we first arrived i could not believe the beauty I was seeing just on the drive from the airport to our villa at casa de campo. Overall my experience here in the Dominican Republic so far has been amazing and i cant wait to embark on the rest of this journey with my teammates and coaches.
