This trip has been an absolute blessing for me to experience, so many things that have changed me as a person, even in such a short time period. Things such as going to the girls’ orphanage and knowing those girls don’t have parents to go home to, and just how happy they are and grateful to be in the place they are. The biggest thing for me on this trip was handing out food bags to some very poor people in Los Mentones. That was the first time I have ever prayed out loud in front of a group of people, and all I can say is that I will remember that for the rest of my life and it felt so amazing, the little things like every single one of these people in the Dominican Republic always have a smile on their face and are so kind and love life, even when they don’t have much. There’s one thing I’ve learned, and it’s that they love Jesus Christ just like I do, and if you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you can feel happiness, no matter what your life circumstances are. These people really showed me that even if you don’t have a big house, a nice car or a lot of money to your name, you can be happy if you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The final thing that impressed me was the work ethic these kids have for the game of baseball. They love the game so much, just like we do, and they give their all no matter what.  It was a blessing to be on this trip, and I hope I can experience something like this one day again.
